You’re Allowed To Leave

Hello loves ❤

“If you ever find yourself in the wrong story, leave.” ― Mo Willems.

You’re allowed to leave any story you don’t find yourself in. You’re allowed to leave any story you don’t love yourself in.

You’re allowed to leave a city that has dimmed your light instead of making you shine brighter, you’re allowed to pack all your bags and start over somewhere else and you’re allowed to redefine the meaning of your life.

You’re allowed to quit the job you hate even if the world tells you not to and you’re allowed to search for something that makes you look forward to tomorrow and to the rest of your life.

You’re allowed to leave someone you love if they’re treating you poorly, you’re allowed to put yourself first if you’re settling and you’re allowed to walk away when you’ve tried over and over again but nothing has changed.

You’re allowed to let toxic friends go, you’re allowed to surround yourself with love, and people who encourage and nurture you. You’re allowed to pick the kind of energy you need in your life.

You’re allowed to forgive yourself for your biggest and smallest mistakes and you’re allowed to be kind to yourself, you’re allowed to look in the mirror and actually like the person you see.

You’re allowed to set yourself free from your own expectations.

We sometimes look at leaving as a bad thing or associate it with giving up or quitting, but sometimes leaving is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Leaving allows you to change directions, to start over, to rediscover yourself and the world. Leaving sometimes saves you from staying stuck in the wrong place with the wrong people.

Leaving opens a new door for change, growth, opportunities and redemption.

You always have the choice to leave until you find where you belong and what makes you happy.

You’re even allowed to leave the old you behind and reinvent yourself.

Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤

Secret To Living A Happy Life

Everyone wants to be healthy and happy, but what are the differences between happy and unhappy people? What is the secret to a happy life? Is it love? Is it money? Is it a fulfilling career? Simply put, your thoughts have a more powerful effect on your life than you might think.

Here are my top tips for you, for living a happier and healthier life.

#1 Stop negative thinking

A negative mind will never give you a positive life. Stop thoughts that are limiting and self-defeating like “I can’t do that’’ or “I’m not good enoug’’. Don’t believe everything you think. Negative and pessimistic thinking is unhelpful and will hold you back from achieving your goals and greater self-confidence. Replace negative thoughts with words that are positive and motivating. At the beginning it may be difficult, but the more you repeatedly send positive messages to yourself, the better you will feel.

“Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening.”

Lisa M. Hayes

#2 Stop comparing yourself to other people

It is an extremely unhealthy habit, but even the most confident people do it: Comparing. We all do it. It’s human, but constant comparison with others make you feel bad about yourself and lowers your self-esteem. You begin to question your own worth. And this can lead to frustration, depression, eating disorders, over-spending, and simply to the feeling of not being good enough. Life is not a competition. If you make it one, nobody will win. It’s always a losing battle, because the only person you’re really hurting in the end is yourself. Stop comparing and start living!

“The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.“

Steven Furtick

#3 Don’t be a victim

You create your life. You have to take responsibility! Even if situations become unbearable, there is always a way out. You will always have the choice to make a change.

#4 Don’t be a people-pleaser

Respect yourself and others will respect you, as easy as that. Don’t spend your whole life on trying to make everyone happy. Practice building self-awareness, discover what you are willing to do and what you don’t want to do. Start putting this into practice by saying no when something doesn’t resonate or align with who you really are. People might get mad at first, but eventually most will come to respect you.

 #5 Start loving yourself

Self-esteem is all about how much you feel you are worth — and how much you feel other people value you. Your level of self-esteem affects your happiness and everything you do.

 #6 Be yourself!

Don’t try to be somebody else. Take control of your life and live it by your own rules. Find a personal style that feels great to you and be proud of it. There is no one like you and that is your power!

 #7 Care for yourself

Eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, drink plenty of water and sleep at least 7 to 8 hours per night. If you don’t get enough sleep, everything else will suffer. Sleep deprivation (which most of us suffer from) puts you in a pre-diabetic state, messes with your metabolism, makes you more likely to be overweight, increases your appetite, decreases your productivity, hampers your immune system, and makes you tired, moody, anxious and likely to be depressed.

 #8 Don’t strive for perfection

Nobody is perfect. You will always find someone who is more beautiful, smarter, richer, better or worse. But you won´t find someone who is perfect.

#9 Concentrate on your strengths not your weaknesses

Focus on what you have already achieved and reached, not what you lack and miss. Be proud of yourself and know your strengths. Avoid negative people, places, and things you don’t like or that make you feel bad about yourself.

Being around toxic people can drain your energy, make you unhappy and insecure. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, give you energy and make you feel good about yourself.

#10 Stay focused on the present moment

It is the only reality. When the past and the future feel painful, focus on the task at hand and do it with your full engagement. Enjoy your life, make the best out of it!

#11 Be childish and play more

When it comes to certain things, children do them way better than we do. Who said you have to get serious while growing up? Never lose the child in you, the childlike faith, childlike hope, childlike play and creativity.

#12 Forgive yourself

Feeling bad about things you’ve done in the past can create a pretty painful present. Remember that you can begin new any day. Your past does not predict your future.

 #13 Be grateful

Gratitude is an attitude and away of living that has been shown to have many benefits in terms of health and happiness. Feeling and expressing gratitude, instead of wanting more and more, turns our mental focus to the good things in life. Which will create more things to be grateful for. As you awake each morning, give thanks for your breath and being healthy. Life is a gift, never forget that.

‘’Watch your thoughts, they become words.

Watch your words, they become actions.

Watch your actions, they become habits.

Watch your habits, they become your character.

Watch your character, it becomes your destiny’’

Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤

Melbourne, Day 2.

I woke up pretty early on Saturday morning, I wanted shower, wash my hair & do my make up ) bc I take forever to get ready) & I also wanted to feel fresh for the day.

It was 1 degree, so I had to rug up so much, I am used to Sydney cold & Melbourne cold is VERRRY different, I swear its not the same.

We went to Soul Cafe for breakfast, I had a white egg omelette w/ mushroom, capsicum, spinach & feta and of course, a hot chocolate.

We than toured around for a bit & went to St Francis Church, I lit a candle for J & I + prayed for us 🙂

The church was absolutely amazing – I was left speechless (I have a big thing for churches)

My time within the church was short yet, I still spent the time thanking god for my blessings as well as praying for J & I (as mentioned)

We than made our way to the Queen Victoria Market, whereby we purchased some waffles & chips on a stick.

The market was huge, it took us a fair while to get around it – it sort of reminded me like some of the markets we have here.

The market was based out in the open & I really enjoyed the air that Melbourne has (weird, I know) but it’s different to Sydney, it was more fresh & crisp.

From The Queen Victoria Market, we headed to the Observation Wheel, it was really amazing, that’s all I have to say.

It took 30 mins to do one round of the observation wheel, it went at 1km an hour, it was so slow yet worth every cent. I absolutely loved this (bc I am a sucker for views). It was a very beautiful we got of Melbourne. (reminds me of Sydney a little) just big, big buildings everywhere.

Afterwards, we went out to dinner at a pizza + pasta place called The Groove – I had the best spaghetti bolognese – it was delicious, they gave me so much but I could eat it any more so they packed it for me to take home.

Later on in the night when we got home, we watched some movies & did face masks & relaxed.

Day 2 was full of adventure & tourist-like tings which I really enjoyed.

I know for a fact I would def do the Observation Wheel again, that was amazing.

What I loved was putting a back pack on my back w/ all the essentials inside & stepping out for the day & being a tourist. (This is really what I want to do in Europe, just pop a back pack on & off I go)

Stay tuned for Day 3.

Daily View

To witness this view everyday is amazing, I absolutely love heights, I love being waaaay up high.

I work on level 50 in one of Sydney CBD’s biggest buildings.

To some this wouldn’t matter & would mean nothing… To me, it’s an amazing feeling to see this view every day.

We have floor to ceiling windows & have a 360 view of the city.

It truly makes you appreciate where you live & how grateful you are.

I love heights, I love views, I love the serenity & peace when you look out into the distance.

The only bummer is that this beautiful sunset doesn’t last very long before nighttime falls. You have to catch it whilst you can 🌤

We live in such a beautiful world.

This is today’s sunset, how beautiful!!
